FAQs

Answers to the questions we get most

How often does a rented property need an EICR?

In England, private landlords must have the electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, and give tenants a copy of the report. Some properties are given a shorter interval on the report itself.

What does the fixed EICR price cover?

The inspection, testing and the written report for a property of that size. If anything needs putting right, we'll tell you the cost before any work starts.

What counts as an emergency?

Anything that leaves you without power or that isn't safe to leave — a whole-house outage, circuits that won't reset, water near electrics, or burning smells. If in doubt, call.

Why would I need a new consumer unit?

Older fuse boards often lack the RCD protection current regulations expect. An upgrade is common after a failed EICR, before adding an EV charger, or when selling a home.

Do you work on commercial premises?

Yes — commercial EICRs and electrical work for shops, offices and other premises. Send us the details through the form and we'll come back with a written quote.
